iCore Networks Announces Partnership Extension with Washington Health Club

January 09, 2012

(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)

iCore Networks, the leading provider of Voice over Private Internet (VoPI) services, reported an expansion in the partnership with Washington based health club operator, Sport&Health.

iCore's reliable, VoPI technology backed by Cisco (News - Alert) Systems provides advanced call features, network reliability, and top-notch voice quality enabling its clients to better manage telecommunication and data issues. This helps reduce capital expenses and monthly telecommunications costs.

iCore and Sport&Health have been partnering since 2001; with the current agreement, Sport&Health is extending its relationship for another five years. Under the existing contract, iCore provides voice and data services at all club locations and its headquarters. Under the new contract, the iCore solution will link over 24 locations and 500 users with four-digit dialing at Sport&Health's McLean, Va. headquarters office and its 24 club locations in Virginia, Maryland and D.C.

“In addition to unique features that increase business productivity and create a positive image of our clients with their customers, voice quality, reliability and customer service are always important to telecom customers, and iCore delivers on all counts,” iCore Chairman and CEO Stephen G. Canton noted in a statement. “We're excited and honored to continue to provide our efficient and dependable telecom system to the area's top health and fitness operator as it continues to grow in the Washington, D.C. metro region and in its ongoing mission to promote good health and well-being in the community.”

In a press release, Sport&Health revealed its plans about opening two new clubs in the Washington, D.C. metro region in 2012. Under the new contract, iCore's services will be deployed at the new locations and continue to increase the already 500 phones and 24 locations iCore supports today.

This will allow Sport&Health employees easy access to one another despite their location.

“We are thrilled to be a ten year customer of iCore! iCore's services have been beneficial for Sport&Health in enabling us to focus on our core business. When we initially engaged with iCore, we were able to consolidate our WAN, equipment, and phone services with one reliable local provider. This allowed us to more effectively manage these services at a lower cost,” Glenn Rappaport, Sport&Health's vice president of IT said. “A long term renewal just made sense because of the overall reliability of the service and value we've experienced. Sport&Health believes strongly in the iCore team. Specifically, the ability to meet our ever changing and competitive technology needs.”

Few months back, iCore Networks’s Chairman and CEO Stephen G. Canton was selected by The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) to be a VIP Guest Speaker at two local high schools during Global Entrepreneurship Week. Canton spoke at Perry Street Preparatory Public Charter School and HD Woodson Senior High School for the event.
