CrowdOptic Teams Up with International Speedway Corp.

(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)

International Speedway Corporation, a promoter of motorsports activities, currently promoting more than 100 racing events annually as well as numerous other motorsports-related activities, has selected CrowdOptic software to power live Google (News - Alert) Glass broadcasting at racing events.

CrowdOptic software’s ability to tackle broadcasting in the highest-density RFID environments was one of the main reasons behind the International Speedway Corporation’s decision to select it.

Officials said that the software will give fans the chance to see both the pre-race events and the racing action from points of view of VIPs and industry insiders -- all streaming their live  through their Google Glass.

Jim Kovach, vice president of business development at CrowdOptic said that the company is happy to be working with ISC to engage their fans. “What better way than by actually seeing through the eyes of insiders that are in unique vantage points that a fan normally wouldn't be able to access.  Even in the setting of the large racing venue, we can create the feeling of being right up close and inside the action,” said Kovach.

Last month, CrowdOptic, a maker of mobile and wearable broadcasting solutions, and ProTransport-1, Northern California's premier medical transport provider, announced a software sales agreement under which ProTransport-1 will deploy the CrowdOptic Google Glass broadcasting solution in its ambulances and mobile medicine units.

ProTransport-1 will use Google Glass to broadcast real-time video evaluations of patients from ambulances during transport to the receiving healthcare institutions. This will improve documentation and expand medical consultative opportunities for patients en route.
