Cruzio, Exalt Provide Streaming of Santa Cruz Warriors Games

Cruzio Internet, in association with Exalt (News - Alert) Communications, has implemented a high-speed microwave link between Kaiser Permanente Arena, home of the Santa Cruz Warriors basketball team, and the Cruzio network operations center in Santa Cruz, Calif. Real-time streaming video of Warriors basketball games on the Internet will be possible with the link, allowing fans to watch the home games irrespective of their location.


An initial session the latest Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz was concluded by a development league team for the Golden State Warriors professional basketball team, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

In a statement, Jim Weyermann, vice president of franchise development for Golden State Warriors and president of Santa Cruz Warriors, said, "From the beginning, we wanted to make streaming video of the home games available to our fans to build up local support and to show our commitment to the community. Cruzio and Exalt delivered a reliable, high-performance connection between the arena and the core network that enables anyone to watch games on any Internet-enabled device. It's been an extremely successful offering to our fans."

An Exalt ExtendAir 24 GHz, 100-megabits-per-second system will link the arena with Cruzio's facility. Cruzio finalized on Exalt system since it has been reliably using Exalt offerings for a long time. The project was completed in 3 months, in time for the opening of the season.

According to James Hackett, business development manager at Cruzio, the organization has been using Exalt links in all of its backhaul and infrastructure-grade links. The organization aims to develop an extremely dependable wireless fiber network. Cruzio selected Exalt mainly for its extremely dependable and high-performance equipment.
