AT&T Announces Addition of FOX Soccer Plus HD to AT&T U-Verse TV Line-Up

U.S. telecommunication giant AT&T has announced the addition of FOX Soccer Plus HD to the AT&T U-verse TV channel lineup, an Internet protocol-based television (IPTV (News - Alert)) service.


The company is bringing FOX Soccer Plus HD to its lineup and also offering a free-view to U-verse TV soccer fans, said Dan York, president of content at AT&T (News - Alert), adding that this deal helps the company with important strategic content initiatives and gives the U-verse TV customers access to even more exciting sports content.

Touted as a premium sports network, FOX Soccer Plus HD delivers live, exclusive soccer matches from the best leagues in the world, including England’s Barclays Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, England's FA Cup and Italy's Serie A.

Additionally, FOX Soccer Plus also offers premium rugby from the Heineken Cup, the Aviva Premiership and the Magners League among other competitions.

“We are excited to deliver our package of the world’s most competitive soccer and rugby action to AT&T U-verse's base of dedicated fans,” said David Nathanson, executive vice president and general manager of FOX Soccer Channel and FOX Soccer Plus.

Equipped with several features, AT&T U-verse enhances the game-watching experience for soccer fans. Company officials said that it includes Total Home DVR that lets viewers to watch and manage recordings from a single DVR on any connected TV in the house and My Multiview, which lets viewers to watch four of their favorite sports channels on the TV screen at one time.

In addition, it offers access to an extensive high definition (HD) channel lineup with access to over 155 HD channels and growing; picture-in-picture browse capability that lets viewers to preview games on other channels; and the ability to follow their favorite sports teams via the AT&T U-bar.

Moreover with AT&T U-verse, customers get innovative apps that bring their TV, home phone and wireless services together. Company officials said that U-verse Mobile allows customers to manage recordings. Plus, they can also download and watch hit TV shows on qualifying smartphones, and more.

Earlier this month, Frost & Sullivan recognized AT&T with the Product Leadership of the Year Award for its portfolio of mobile enterprise applications.
