Handmark Offers Goal.com Soccer News within Pocket Express

Handmark, a developer and distributor of mobile applications and services reportedly announced the availability of Goal.com soccer news within Pocket Express its news and information service.
 
Pocket Express provides consumers access to news, sports, weather, travel information and others all in one application for mobile users. Company sources added that customers on Windows Mobile and BlackBerry (News - Alert) smartphones in North America will benefit from easy access to coverage of international soccer within the Pocket Express news and sports channels.
 
It will also provide latest news, match previews and recaps, club-by-club news and photos produced by Goal.com. Coverage will be available in both English and Spanish with more languages to follow soon.
 
In a news release Evan Conway, executive vice president of marketing for Handmark (News - Alert) said, “Having instant access to the most desired content including the latest soccer news and scores is clearly what fans want from their phone. Our partnership with Goal.com delivers on this, providing mobile users with the absolute best coverage.”
 
Handmark and Goal.com announced a new partnership and also launched a standalone Goal.com mobile application for BlackBerry smartphones last month. Goal.com Mobile is powered by the Handmark Mobile Publishing Platform. This will enable newspapers, magazines and content providers to launch their own branded, always-on personalized mobile applications, said Handmark sources.
 
“As soccer fans increasingly look to their mobile handsets to keep them informed on the go, we are dedicated to meeting those needs through the introduction of new and exciting services,” said Joan Blaas, vice president of Mobile for Goal.com. “Our partnership with Handmark allows us to provide fans across the globe with the latest scores, commentary and news they crave at the touch of a button.”
 
Goal.com produces its content in-house. Its 450 editors write content regarding football on a local, national and global basis. This provides real-time coverage bringing the world’s diverse football content to the global football community via the application. 
Handmark develops and distributes mobile applications and services besides specializing in mobile solutions for publishers and other media companies. Handmark also supports development across all major mobile platforms, as well as distribution, monetization and maintenance for its partners.
