February 03, 2014

Sportech Racing and Digital (Sportech) announced the signing of a new contract with Great Canadian Gaming Corporation for pari-mutuel tote wagering systems and services. As per the new contract, Sportech will deliver new teller-operated and self-service wagering devices in addition to mobile wagering service. Sportech is an existing service provider for Great Canadian Gaming, supporting the gaming company’s pari-mutuel wagering activities in British Columbia and Ontario from its Quantum (News - Alert) Data Center in New Jersey.

In a release, Andrew Gaughan, president at Sportech, said, “This new contract with Great Canadian Gaming extends an important relationship with a valued customer. It not only provides more efficient wagering terminals, but also provides the opportunity to adopt new and emerging technologies, such as Sportech's Digital Link mobile wagering and digital voucher suite.”

The new development extends this existing relationship with Sportech delivering new devices and services to extend Great Canadian Gaming’s wagering activities. The mobile wagering service offered by Sportech allows the patrons of Great Canadian Gaming to participate in the wagering games using their internet enabled smartphone or tablet PC, from the convenience of their homes or while on the move.

Speaking of the decision to extend the contract with Sportech for new services, Bruce Barbour, executive director for Racing Operations at Great Canadian Gaming, said, “We have been pleased with the reliability and performance of Sportech's wagering technology, and with the level of service we have received, and we look forward to implementing some of the new technologies Sportech has on the horizon.”
