LifeProof Official Sponsor of IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 Events
World Triathlon Corporation, owner of the IRONMAN Series, recently announced that it has signed a contract with LifeProof, the maker of all-protective, everyday cases for smartphones and tablets, for the official sponsorship. According to the terms of the agreement, LifeProof will be an Official Sponsor of the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 Series and will also sponsor swim caps for IRONMAN 70.3 races in the United States over the next three years.
"We are excited to have LifeProof as a partner across IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events," said Erik Vervloet, CMO of IRONMAN. "Our athletes are tough consumers; they test products to their limits. Our athletes are active and constantly on-the-go. LifeProof is the right partner to not only go with them, but also to keep up with their demands."
LifeProof designs, manufactures and markets an entirely new category of products designed to give people more freedom from environmental constraints. The San Diego based company offers elegant and protective cases for smartphones and tablets that enable full functionality and interactivity under any condition encountered in daily life.
"IRONMAN is a natural fit for LifeProof. LifeProof cases can be used everywhere the athletes go -- swim, bike, run -- without worry since our case is water proof, dirt proof, snow proof and shock proof," said Gary Rayner, founder and CEO of LifeProof. "Outside of training, these athletes are parents and business professionals who want to use their iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad everywhere they go without worry of dropping it or spilling on it."
In related news, LifeProof recently named Timothy Van Linge as CFO. According to a release, Van Linge will be responsible for strategic financial management, including accounting systems, reporting, and analysis.
