By using the ‘NHL 3D Live Wallpaper’ Android app one can customize their phones matching the style of their favorite teams and Cellfish (News - Alert) announced that it has upgraded the app with the new “Spinning Puck Playoff Edition.” This version of the app will show a spinning hockey puck at center ice emblazoned with the logo of the NHL.

The NHL 3D Live Wallpaper is packed with vibrant team colors, a interactive 3D environment and animated team flag that is supposed to make the user stay connected to their favorite NHL team from wherever they are. With the licensed live wallpaper series by the National Hockey League, it is like face-painting the mobile phone.

The Spinning Puck Playoff Edition that adds a puck to the phone’s display is for free and by paying a certain amount users can have the ability to change the puck’s speed and direction based on their finger swipe. And for $0.99 they will also be able to add their team’s logo on the puck.

Cellfish claimed that it designs and develops innovative mobile and social applications, focused on delivering high-value and engaging experiences to music, sports and entertainment fans. The company recently bought Airborne Studios with the intention to engage sports fans with via sports-focused mobile content and applications and has partnership deals with over a hundred and twenty IP owners to harness the power of mobile and social media to deliver best-in-class entertainment experiences to consumers, specifically focusing on sports fans.

“The NHL Playoffs have only just begun, and we’ve already seen several hotly contested matchups that are sure to go down in the history books. Fans are coming out in droves to support their favorite teams, and we’re happy to offer them a little something extra with our app. Our goal is to give users the opportunity to show off their dedication wherever they go, and we’re excited to make that a little easier for them now,” stated Julien Mitelberg, co-founder and chief operating officer of Cellfish, in a press release.
