January 20, 2012

(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)

Colorado-based Aspen Skiing Company recently announced its partnership with ScreenScape Networks, the leading provider of community-based digital signage network and key enabler of location-based marketing.

ScreenScape’s software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) platform helps businesses engage audiences inside real locations using Internet-enabled digital displays. Using ScreenScape software service, Aspen/Snowmass is going to develop its own place-based media network to provide rich media content, promotional messages, news, weather and other information to locations throughout the resort area. The investment is aimed at grabbing customers’ attention through attractive digital displays at the right place and at the right time.

“We made the decision to go with ScreenScape because we wanted to speak more effectively to our customers in the right place and at the right time. ScreenScape allows for a timely and easy to execute coordination of messaging at the many physical sites within our organization,” Jeff Hanle, director of Public Relations at Aspen Skiing Company explained in a statement.

According to the CEO of ScreenScape, Kevin Dwyer, ScreenScape’s cost effective solution will help extend Aspen’s promotional reach. ScreenScape’s online service can effectively engage the prospective customers in physical places through the use of digital displays. The SaaS based platform allows the venue managers to log in to ScreenScape from anywhere and quickly build dynamic programming for their own network of screens.

By connecting with other members of the ScreenScape Community, which include ski areas, resorts, athletic clubs, pubs, retailers, and leading brands, they can draw upon a pool of fresh content, such as online video, or push their own promotional messages to audiences inside other places of business that use ScreenScape. Through the partnership with ScreenScape, Aspen comes into contact with a huge skiing and recreation community already using ScreenScape.

Few months back, ScreenScape Networks inked a deal with Panasonic (News - Alert) Canada for offering new Panasonic digital signage LCD display customers with a complimentary one-year subscription to their community-based digital signage service.
