DVSport and Lynx System Developers Become Partners
(SPORTS TECHNOLOGY)
DVSport, Inc., a digital video acquisition, editing, and replay company, and Lynx System Developers, Inc., a Haverhill, MA-based global sports technology leader, have joined forces to develop a tracking system technology which is a combination of real time player tracking, robotic cameras, and statistical information with existing coaching solutions for the sports industry.
The companies are planning to combine their products to come up with a solution that shows player participation and positioning metrics in real time as well as provides the basis for an ongoing statistical database for athletes and coaches.
With complete access to additional data metrics, individual and team video feeds, and statistics in real time, the team can look at better ways of training and can even administer medical attention. The coaches, trainers, medical staff, and players can evaluate and assess relevant data in real time and review trends.
“Imagine being able to tell recruits that everything they do during their entire college career will be captured in isolation video correlated with accurate statistics about their performance,” says Edward Evansen, CEO of Lynx.“It's time for sports organizations to fully utilize real time information gathering, tracking and data analysis technology to enhance player performance. By decreasing the feedback loop, and providing meaningful and useful information about performance and injury rehabilitation, DVSport and Lynx see this as an evolutionary step in mission critical information for sports teams,” said Brian Lowe, president and CEO of DVSport.
“The possibilities are endless,” said Lowe. “We no longer have to imagine or approximate how fast someone is running or where they were located at a given moment during the game.”
All of this information can be transmitted directly from the athletes themselves, using next generation software analysis tools that will seamlessly integrate into DVSport's current market-leading solutions.“By working with DVSport’s extensive existing customer base, Lynx believes that the addition of IsoLynx will usher in a new age in statistical information gathering – at all levels of sport. Lynx believes that this partnership with DVSport presents the opportunity to deploy the latest technology in a way that is consistent with the Lynx philosophy of actively collaborating with market leaders in a given sports vertical,” said Evansen.
