The Extreme Sports Company Debuts Extreme Sports Application

November 09, 2010

iPhone (News - Alert) gets another app with the launch of The Extreme Sports App from the Extreme Sports Company. Enabling users to register their location, measure and then log their activities and compete against other users for awards, the Extreme Sports App is a gateway into a world of Extreme Sports.

It is targeted at anyone who has a passion for any of the 44 extreme sports available on the App. Making full use of all the technologies built into the iPhone, this unique app, developed by Gourmet Pixel, is one of the most sophisticated and functional apps currently available in the market.

The Extreme Sports Company was founded by Al Gosling in 1995 and is a pioneering brand management and licensing company that owns the Extreme brand, one of the world’s most unique sports lifestyle brands.

“This App is incredibly innovative and really encourages people to take part in the sports and push themselves to be as good as they can,” said Al Gosling, founder and CEO of The Extreme Sports Company, in a press release. “We are very excited about this as there is nothing else like it out there and we’re delighted Gourmet Pixel have done such an amazing job.”

Recording forces exerted upon the user such as g-force, speed, altitude, inclines and rotations, the App uses the company’s specifically developed Movement platform. To create a log, and to position them in the global charts, this data is then synced with their location information and profile. Users can log the areas they are actively doing the sports, create new places or register with existing ones with the help of GPS on the iPhone.

Various other Apps launched for iPhone have become popular among the users. Recently, Skyfire, a cloud computing solutions provider that launched its latest Skyfire (News - Alert) iPhone application to the public, sold out its first batch of inventory within five hours of the product launch, creating a new record for the top grossing iPhone app in the Apple (News - Alert) App Store, the company stated in a press release.
